Introduction

The XClent paragliding club was formed several years ago when Alan Maguire purchased the winch with a BHPA interest free loan. At the end of each season the loan was paid back bit by bit until the winch was wholely owned by Alan. As the clubs only Tow Coach, a senior one at that, the onus was on him to run the whole show. The pilots turned up, paid their dues to the club & wonderful winchman and flew off into the record books.

2004 sees the start of the clubs rebirth in it's full glory with a New Senior Tow Coach.

We intend to continue to encourage all members to get a Tow Coach rating and also to become winch operators. This will share the burden fairly and will allow every member to take full advantage of the superb XC potential the area offers. In addition, it will also encourage low airtime pilots to develop their skills and put something back into the sport.

We will continue to run conversion courses at a rate below the national average.
